Boy Scouts and Venture Crew

We are offering programs for the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII Religious Medals for all Catholic Boy Scouts and Boys and Girls involved in Venture Crew, starting April 26, 2015. Meets one to two Sundays per month at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Doylestown, with completion by mid-December. Ad Altare Dei Medal: Boy Scouts and Venture Crew, Grades 7-9. Meets at 6:00 pm.
• The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Boy Scouts and Venture Crew to develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community.
• The program is organized in chapters based on the seven Sacraments, with a focus on spiritual growth.
Pope Pius XII Medal: Boy Scouts and Venture Crew, Grades 10-12. Meets at 7:00 pm.
• The Pope Pius XII program deals with different life choices (single, married, religious, ordained), occupations, and ministries in the church as calls from God.
• It includes youth-led discussions on current issues facing the church and society, and concludes with a Pius XII retreat or day of recollection.

Religious Emblem

1. Archdiocesan Retreat October 2-4, 2015 at Camp Ockanickon (See attached flyer). Attendance at the retreat meets the requirements for the Ad Altare Dei medal program.
2. Scouting for Faith Emblem Requirements. (See attached flyer). We will begin Part 1: Pilgrimage is scheduled for April 18, 2015. We will meet at the Doylestown Train station at 8 am, and take the train into Philadelphia and visit Old Saint Joseph’s and Old Saint Mary’s historic churches. We will also pray the rosary (see attached instructions for praying the rosary and requirements for earning the rosary religious emblems).
3. Our first meeting for the Ad Altare Dei (6-7 pm) and Pope Pius XII (7-8:30) medal programs will be held April 26 at the Simon Stock House. (See attached announcement).
